Crafting Web Experiences

Institutional Website for Academic Project

QR4You

This project, completed in 2017, marked my initial entry into professional WordPress development. I was commissioned to design and deploy a web platform to support a collaborative academic initiative.

Project Context

The client required a central digital hub to host project findings, resources, and institutional information. Despite this being an early-career project, the focus was on delivering a reliable and user-friendly experience that met academic standards.

Implementation & Approach

  • CMS Selection: I chose WordPress to ensure the client had a sustainable way to manage their own content post-launch without needing constant technical oversight.
  • Collaboration: I worked closely with the project leads to translate their academic requirements into a structured, navigable site architecture.
  • Foundational Best Practices: The project served as a baseline for my current workflows, establishing a focus on responsive design, clean site structure, and ease of use for non-technical administrators.

Reflection

This project was a significant first step in my development career. It successfully provided the academic team with a professional online presence and demonstrated my ability to take a client’s vision from an initial concept to a fully realized, functional live environment.
