Developed for Tecnogial – Projectos E Tecnologia Industrial, Lda., this project involved the creation of a high-performance web platform designed to digitize and automate the company’s industrial ordering process.
Client-Facing Order System
The primary goal was to provide a seamless, self-service experience for Tecnogial’s customers. I developed a specialized multi-step interface that allows clients to:
- Guided Ordering: Submit complex orders through an intuitive, step-by-step workflow.
- Technical Integration: Securely upload CAD files directly through the order portal.
- Logistics & Billing: Select preferred delivery methods and choose between various payment options.
- Digital Payments: Complete transactions securely via integrated online payment gateways.
- Real-Time Tracking: Monitor the production and shipping status of their orders via a personalized dashboard.
Bespoke Management Architecture
To handle the unique logic of Tecnogial’s business operations, I developed a hybrid infrastructure that balances ease of use with robust administrative control:
- Content Management (WordPress): A customized WordPress theme serves as the public-facing site, allowing the client to manage general website content and company information effortlessly.
- Custom Order Engine (PHP): I built a proprietary management platform using a custom PHP framework. This system handles the “heavy lifting”—managing order lifecycles, configuring the steps of the ordering form, and overseeing delivery and payment configurations.
- Advanced Access Control: To ensure maximum security, I integrated the custom platform with the WordPress authentication system. I implemented Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), ensuring that only employees with specific administrative roles can access the internal management tools, effectively isolating sensitive data from the public web.
Project Impact
This solution transitioned Tecnogial from a manual order intake process to a fully digital ecosystem. By bridging a user-friendly WordPress interface with a powerful, custom-built PHP backend, the company now benefits from reduced administrative overhead and a more professional, transparent service for their industrial clients.
